Looking for a creative activity to inspire and engage your group of children or families? Whether it’s at your community venue or at Polka, our expert team of actors, directors, storytellers and puppeteers can create a tailor-made workshop just for you.
We work with a wide range of organisations delivering workshops locally and across London. These organisations include, but are not limited to Children’s Centres, Sensory Support Services, Commonside Community Development Trust, with families living in temporary accommodation, HAF groups, local library services in Merton and Sutton, Wimbledon Quarter Shopping Centre and The British Library.

£250.00 for 1 hour workshop
£360.00 for half-day workshop
£480.00 for full-day workshop

Types of Workshops

Led by one of Polka’s expert storytellers using drama and sensory techniques ,your young people will be invited to travel with them through the world of a story, bringing a book or classic tale of your choosing to life. Ideal for younger groups or SEND groups.

Led by one of Polka’s experienced puppeteers, your young people will learn about a range of different types of puppets and performance techniques. Each child will be guided through the process of designing and building their very own puppet. Workshops can be themed to a book or topic of your choosing.

A Polka practitioner will bring a tale to life through an interactive storytelling session. Participants will design and make puppets, masks, or other props to explore and participate in the story.

In a Page to Stage workshop, pupils will work with a Polka practitioner to bring a book or story of your choosing to life. Every workshop will begin with a warm up and end with a chance for groups to perform.

In a Play in a Day workshop, a Polka Practitioner will guide your students through the process of devising and staging their own piece of theatre.

Here, children will use roleplay and other drama techniques to develop their emotional regulation skills by exploring how to recognise and manage strong feelings. Every workshop will begin with a warm up and end with a cool down and reflection.

A bespoke workshop, created with your different needs in mind. It could combine two or more different types of workshops, run over multiple days, or use drama and theatre to explore something completely original.
