Our Polka Youth Theatre offers a unique opportunity for anyone aged 9 -12 to work with leading theatre professionals and receive expert drama training. During these weekly sessions, the children will start exploring improvisation and role-play techniques, characterisation exercises and performance skills. Each term we will develop a new piece of theatre that reflects the creativity of the young people involved. 

Price per term per child - £115
Time - 4.30 - 6pm
Age - 9-12 yrs (Yrs 5, 6 & 7) 

Autumn Term:
Wednesday 25 September - Wednesday 4 December (no session 30 October)
By booking for Wednesday 25 September, you are enrolling for the full Autumn term. 

Spring Term:
Wednesday 15 January - 26 March (no session 19 February)
By booking for Wednesday 15 January, you are enrolling for the full Spring term. 

Interested in your child achieving their Arts Award?

Polka are pleased to offer Arts Award as part of our Spring/Summer Terms for Youth Theatre participants. By signing up now, your child will be enrolled for completing the Arts Award programme through Spring term for Discover level OR Spring & Summer terms for Explore level. Please note when signing up for Explore Arts Award, you will have to re-register for Summer term as normal, but there will be no payment again for this Arts Award.

Arts Award is a nationally recognised qualification for children and young people aged 5 – 25 years old. For those taking the award, the Polka Creative Learning team & practitioners in Youth Theatre will provide all the extra resources & materials as part of their time taking part with us. Children will enjoy recording, sharing & exploring their discoveries of arts from theatre skills, movement and more!

Our team of professional theatre facilitators and our Arts Award adviser will guide the children on an exciting journey, where they will receive their very own logbook & accredited certificate on completion of the course.

There is a small additional charge to partake in either Arts Award as below:

• Discover - £10 – Spring term only
• Explore - £25 – Spring & Summer terms

To complete Explore Arts Award, you must have achieved Discover level already.
