Make Your Own Shadow Puppet!

Now you can create the magic of the Himalayas at home with our animal shadow puppet designs, inspired by our production of Three Sat Under the Banyan Tree!

Here’s what you will need:

  • Coloured card
  • Scissors
  • Masking tape
  • Lollipop sticks
  • A grown up to help you

Once you’ve made a full cast of animals you can even make a shadow puppet theatre!

1) Draw an outline of your animal on an A4 piece of coloured card and cut out the outline of your animal using scissors. Be careful of your fingers!

2) Draw on or cut holes in your animal in the places where the eyes, nose and mouth are.

3) Tear off a small piece of masking tape and attach a lollipop stick to the back of your animal.

5) Your shadow puppet is ready to use! Turn out the lights, switch on a lamp, and watch your animal come to life...
