We were very happy and honoured to be part of several Saturday Clubs at Polka Theatre, among which I would like to mention:
- Summer Flower Windows in July 2026,
- Book Illustrators in March 2026,
- Circus in January 2026
- Family Clay Time in December 2025
- Yoga Class in June 2025
- Space Crafts and Take Off in March 2025
- New Year New Skill in January 2025
- Polka’s Singalong Saturday Club in Dec 2024
I appreciate so much that Polka organises Clubs where the entire family can participate, this means a lot for neurodivergent children, for insecure or just overprotective parents, for shy children who are still very much attached to their parents. These family clubs offer a unique opportunity for families to bond outside their usual home environments. We played and crafted, we sang and danced alltogether, which is just amazing. Children start seing their parents with different eyes and appreciate their physical abilities and artistic talents. I remember how my children were awed seeing me stretch and perform complicated gymnastic moves at the Yoga Club or how we painted each other’s faces at the Crafts Club. No judgement, it was a safe place to create and feel free.

Besides the family bond, the parent’s presence in the room encouraged children to safely engage with their peers, make new friends and spend quality time.
My children and I, we enjoyed all the Saturday clubs we have been to and we have great memories from every and each one of them. The Yoga Club had impressive relaxing sounds, we stretched and held hands. In the Flower Window Club we carefully chose real plant petals and leaves to create unique window framed compositions; we still got one at home now! At the Singalong Club we were invited to sing some famous carols with an experienced musician playing piano. Circus Club introduced talented showmen who shared their skills with us, we learnt to pedal, juggle and walk on the high rope. Crafting Clubs were to teach us how to make a paper space ship and how to model a clay pot or a statue that will not fall down.
Most of what we loved in these activities was the joy of being together while learning new skills, we relaxed and played, we laughed and crafted: all in a safe, guided environment, what a treat!
In conclusion I would like to say that we feel very lucky to be part of many activities organised by Polka, from flower planting to yoga stretching, from singing by the piano with great artists to applauding young, future actors on a theatre stage; from experiencing circus moves to relaxing in a deep state of peace and calm music. At Polka we, as a family, shared a fulfilling, emotional state of happiness, because it offered the frame, the environment and the right timing that nurtured an unusual escape from our daily routines. Polka is a children’s theatre that offers complete dramatical but also emotional immersion in boundless play and creativity for parents alongside their children.
I strongly believe that there should be more Polkas around, and I encourage everyone to not limit themselves to staged shows; they are lovely, but Polka is much more than that, guide your children into new creative discoveries at Saturday Clubs!

Saturdays became so monotonous for us as a family and so we decided to seek something that would vary week to week! Activities that would keep my little ones busy but not bored by continuously doing the same thing over and over again. That is when we came across Polka Saturdays! Polka is somewhere we frequent for; the free spaces to stay and play, have lunch and of course watch the diverse and creative children theatre shows ( that I can hand on heart say they are not just for little ones)!

We have attended various Polka Saturdays clubs such as; Summer Flower Windows, Origami, GrassHead, Capoeira and Spacecrafts and all of which kept my children engaged, happy and creative. The workshops varied which kept my children and me on our toes as to what we were going to do and more importantly learn. The Saturday clubs gave us stories, insights to culture, learning techniques, bringing home what we made and sometimes an extra goodie to be creative at home with and learning and being aware of nature. Whenever, we attend Polka we always go and check on our plants that we planted in the garden during GrassHead. As a parent I found these workshops not only, wonderful for the things listed above but they gave me ideas to do at home.
If you want to enjoy time with your little ones and for you all to have lots of fun whilst learning something new and allowing creativity and arts to be a the forefront then make sure to book a Saturday club at Polka as we will definitely be booking plenty more!
