Join Polka Theatre for our Summer Term Teacher’s Continued Professional Development Day, this time exploring dramatic techniques to develop literacy skills.
Since 2019, Polka’s Write Here Write Now project has supported nearly 500 children across 42 schools in developing their confidence, storytelling and literacy skills. Last year, teachers reported that 93% of participants improved their ability to communicate their ideas, and 83% became more engaged with class activities.
In this CPD day, we’ll take a look at a range of dramatic tools and techniques that you can use to support the development of literacy skills among EYFS, KS1 and KS2 children. From making early reading enjoyable to encouraging creative writing, there will be a wide range of curriculum linked activities ready to take back to your classroom.
“Fantastic! It was structured exceptionally well and they were great at creating a safe and welcoming environment” – Teacher, Literacy CPD 2024
We’ll give you the chance to practice, discuss, and work with other teachers to adapt activities to suit the needs of your pupils, giving you practical skills and knowledge to take back to your classroom.
“The activities were fabulous, I can’t wait to try some out.” – Teacher, Literacy CPD 2024
This day is aimed at teachers in EYFS to Year 6, and all teachers will be provided with an accompanying resource pack.
