Are any of your students interested in working in a theatre?
This academic year, Polka will be running our extremely popular Work Experience Week from Monday 27 June – 1 July 2022.
We work with a group of 15 students from school years 10 and 11. The group will spend time with all departments at Polka including production, marketing, fundraising, creative learning and visitors service. They will learn about how we make theatre for children, and experience how an arts organisation is run. As part of the week all students will get to see our current productions, The Paper Dolls and The Pirate, the Princess and the Platypus, take part in practical workshops and assist our Front of House team.
Applications for Work Experience 2022 have now closed. Places have now been assigned for this year and we have a long waiting list. If you have a student who may be interested in applying to take part in our Polka Work Experience Week, please contact Elysia, the Schools Relationship Officer and we can add you to our waiting list.
We particularly support our local secondary schools in placing their students for work experience, and because of this priority is given to students who live or study in Merton, Wandsworth or Croydon.
As there is a large demand for placements at Polka we highly recommend that relevant experience is clearly stated in the application form, along with what the student would hope to gain from a placement.
Please note, unfortunately, we are unable to offer work placements outside of the dates above.
For any further information, please contact Elysia, Schools Relationship Officer.
