The first Saturday of each month, ages 4+
Join us for a fun creative session for all the family to enjoy together. Take part in an exciting and varied programme of activities from interactive storytelling, sharing stories and music from around the world, music-making, dance and movement workshops to puppet making, creative cooking and sensory stories in the garden.

Space, Crafts and Take Off! Join us to mark British Science Week this March (7 – 16 March 2025) and create a space scene with shadow puppets of astronauts, planets or aliens, as well as crafting a space rocket that can be launched outside. Setting the scene in our sensory space studio, you’ll feel ready to countdown with our ‘rocket launcher’ as your rockets blast off into the open skies! Save the memories by taking your own mini video of your rocket launches & shadow puppet space play in Polka’s studio before returning back home. |

Ready, Set, Grow! Spring into action in our Polka garden, creating, planting and preparing for the fresh shoots of the season! Come rain or shine, we will be outside nurturing the current growth of sensory plants, along with digging new homes for a range of seasonal flowers. Enjoy the fresh springtime air and learn more about our natural world, discovering fun facts about homegrown herbs, vegetables & more! Once you’ve finished planting, the fun doesn’t end as we’ll have plenty of Polka pots for you to decorate, using a multitude of recyclable materials, such as, tissue paper, biodegradable glitter & ribbon to make the perfect home for your own plant. |

Folk Stories Join in with the national May Day festivities and hear some traditional folk tales. To mark this celebratory turn in the seasons, come together to listen to our folk storyteller and immerse yourself with sensory storytelling props & May Day music. Looking ahead to better sunnier weather, we hope to venture outdoors, ringing the bells and enjoying the natural environment. |

Saturday Stretch Take part in a family yoga session to mark the International Day of Yoga in June. Explore a variety of yoga practices & techniques through play and games while learning how to stretch, flex & balance. From poses such as the traditional tree or butterfly, discover how to coordinate different body parts while twisting & turning, you’re sure to increase your flexibility and challenge yourself to enjoy moments of calm with your child. |

Summer Style Headdress Get into the festival spirit this summer at Polka and choose from a variety of pre-designed headpieces or headbands to individually decorate and take home. While decorating, enjoy some summertime party tunes and embrace the feel-good vibes of making & creating with your family. Let your hair down, join our outdoor garden parade and party on! |
