YVP review To Dream Again
Our very own Young Voices Panel went to see To Dream Again and review it! Here are some snippets of their thoughts on the play;
‘My favourite character was Sophie, because she loves writing stories and so do I. I also liked Robin Goodfellow the plumber because he was so humorous. This play was extremely funny, however in places it was sad and emotional. I had tears in my eyes at the end.
The sets were realistic and colourful and really captured the senses of the different places, like Sophie’s home and the magic forest. The costumes were very fitting for the characters, especially the plumber’s dungarees!
I was astounded by the quality of this play. It was everything I could have hoped for and more.’

‘It was a heart-warming, sweet and well-done performance which I really enjoyed! It surprised me that the parents still split up at the end; eventually I understood why. Although very sad at times, I thought the production was extremely funny and interesting.’

‘I watched To Dream Again and I found it good and sad. I think it was good that it did not have a happy ending because it taught children that not everything in life ends in happy ending. I really liked the costume and my favourite part was when Puck was dancing and the radiator was moving. I don’t think I would change anything about the show it was good.’

‘One of the reasons I liked the show was because it was based on an everyday life scene and, it shows that fairy stories do not always end as ”they lived happily ever after”. It also tells us that magic does not always work, and it doesn’t always do what you want either. Another reason this show is one of my favourites, is because when Puck puts Demetrius and Helena in the spell, their steady slow motion and their facial expression are amazingly life-like.’
